NCAA Game Summary - Western Michigan at Ball State
Muncie, IN (Sports Network) - MiQuale Lewis capped Ball State's perfect
regular season with a 120-yard, three-touchdown effort on the ground in No. 15
Ball State's 45-22 victory over Western Michigan to wrap up the West Division
of the Mid-American Conference.
Nate Davis rushed for a touchdown and 64 yards, while throwing for 273 yards
with a score on 17-of-25 attempts for the Cardinals (12-0, 8-0 MAC), who
advanced to their first MAC title game against Buffalo, the winner of the East
Division, on Friday December 5.
Louis Johnson caught four balls for 91 yards and a touchdown, and Trey Lewis
returned an interception for a TD in a solid defensive effort for Ball State,
which improved to 12-0 for the first time in school history.
Tim Hiller threw for 145 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted twice on
15-of-32 efficiency for the Broncos (9-3, 6-2), who saw their three-game
winning streak halted and lost a chance at gaining the West crown themselves.
Aaron Winchester rushed for 77 yards, while fellow running back Brandon West
had 61 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries in defeat.
